Former City Midfielder Caretaker At Villa

Former Coventry City midfielder Kevin MacDonald has been appointed caretaker manager at Aston Villa, following the sacking of Steve Bruce.

MacDonald, made 31 appearances for City from 1989 to 1991 before the former Leicester City and Liverpool player ended his career with Walsall.

The Scot was caretaker manager at Leicester City in 1994 and has been assistant manager of the Republic Of Ireland manager before taking over at Swindon Town.

MacDonald then moved to Aston Villa reserves/U23's and has been assistant manager and caretaker manager following the departure of Gary McAllister.

He will be in charge for Villa's game away to Millwall on Saturday.
