The midfielder whose only start for the Sky Blues last season was the defeat to Cardiff City, missed a team meeting and was left out of the squad which faced Carlisle at the weekend.
He, then put in a request to have his contract terminated which was accepted and has returned to Stamford Bridge after making one start and ten substitute appearances.
