Former City Lady Plays in Birmingham's Euro Win

Former Coventry City Ladies defender Laura Bassett played for Birmingham City Ladies in their 5-2 Champions League victory over Russian side FK Zorkiy.

Birmingham won 2-0 in Russia on Saturday and had former Sky Blues Emily Simpkins, Chris Torkildsen, Mary Earps and Hannah George on the bench.

They were two goals up in the opening nine minutes through Christiansen and Linnett in front of a crowd of 1,062 at St Andrews, but allowed Maria Ruiz and Ashley Nick to equalise.

in the second half, Kerys Harrop headed Birmingham back in front in the 50th minute and goals from Linnett in the 66th minute and Lawley ten minutes later, ensured that Birmingham booked their place in the Champions League Quarter-Finals with a 7-2 aggregate victory.
