Former Coventry City Ladies and Coventry City Girls FC player Laura Bassett played for England Women's in their World Cup Quarter-Final victory against Canada.

With a place in the Semi-Final against Japan on Wednesday in Edmonton, England started the game at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver with Jodie Taylor drilling home in the eleventh minute and three minutes later, Lucy Bronze scored a second with a header in off the crossbar.

Just before half-time, a mistake by England keeper Karen Bardsley allowed Sinclair to tap home, watched by a crowd of 54.027.

There were no goals in the second half and England booked their place in the semi-finals for the first time ever.
