Foley: Delighted To Have The Option To Come Here

Kevin Foley has said that he was delighted to have the option to sign for Coventry City.

Foley told Bille Marshall:  “Very pleased to have signed. Obviously my contract was coming to an end at Charlton and I spoke to Russell because he knew my situation at the club from when he initially signed me. I’m hoping it will be a great move for me.

“I signed an initial six month with Charlton, but the new manager came in and he has got new ideas and I was delighted to have the option to come here, it is an absolutely fantastic club not far from my home so it fit well.

“I had many years at Wolves and still live in the Midlands so it’s great to be back playing football here. I enjoyed working with Russell.

“Russell is a manager you can talk to, he is a good person first of all and is very level-headed. He doesn’t get too carried away from the short time that I’ve known him and is just a pleasure to play for.

“I’ve heard great things about Coventry and the young lads here. I knew Sam Ricketts from my time at Wolves and he has told me what a bunch of promising players we have.

"As I get older I like to think I can do things right, and if the players want to look up to me then great.

“I am happy to try and lend a hand where I can, but at the end of the day I’m here to play football and I think there are many more years left in me yet."
