Fletcher On Take-Over Latest

"Frustraton" was City MD's Paul Fletcher word when speaking about the possible take-over by Manhatten Sports Capital Partners. Said Fletcher to the CT: "We are in the middle of negotiations and therefore can't say anything at the moment which is frustrating for me, the fans and everyone.

"The moment we say something it is interrogated to the nth degree. "But certainly, we are hoping they are coming over here because discussions are progressing. "As I said before, we had an excellent conference call with them two weeks ago when they said they would be coming over at this time. "I wish I could say more to the fans."

Geoffrey Robinson's whose very good friend Gordon Brown takes over as Prime Minister today commeneted: "It is a very good sign," confirmed acting chairman Geoffrey Robinson, "but how much nearer it takes us to a deal I am not sure.

"I can only think that the chances are very good and I get more hopeful as time goes on."

Like the City board and supporters,City boss Iain Dowie is also frustrated as he tries to build a team for the forth coming season with Mr Fletcher saying: "We are trying our best to support the manager at a very difficult time for him and during a transitional period for the club."
