Coventry City Chairman Tim Fisher has said that City's EFL Trophy Final victory can be a springboard for next season.

Timothy Fisher, who now writes "From The Chairman in his programme notes due to being the only director left at Otium Entertainment Group following the departure of Mark Venus and in the progamme for the CCFPA Legends Day game against Peterborough United, he wrote: "We would like to thank each and every supporter who made the trip to London last weekend. I think everyone would agree that the atmosphere was extraordinary and something to be savoured and remembered.

"The team and the board would like to dedicate Sunday's win to the former players of the club - many of whom were there showing their support last Sunday.

"John Sillett, our 1987 FA Cup winning manager, was a special guest of the club at Wembley last weekend. How fitting that we could reflect on our previous Wembley success 30 years ago with John's presence at the game.

"John, has commented that Wembley could be a turning point in the club's fortunes. The club certainly believes that we can use Sunday's achievement and the positivity that yielded as a springboard for next season."
