Tim Fisher has said that Steven Pressley was dismissed as Coventry City manager for failing to meet his targets.

Speaking to members of the Coventry City Supporters Consultative Group during a Conference phone call, Mr Fisher said:that it  was a sad day for him personally. Steven Pressley was a friend and was likeable, driven and passionate professional but unfortunately we are in a very results orientated business and he had not been able to deliver the results.

Coventry City had had notched-up only one league win this calendar year despite the fact that we had a top 6 budget in League One, we paid upper quartile wages (average £125k vs the highest average at £196K and the lowest at £46k average) but we were in the bottom four in the league.

Steven Pressley had managed for 100 games, he had performance targets, had all the support to bring in players and the club had stretched its budget by adding several loan players to the squad. It was the manner of the draw on Saturday when once again we showed our inability to close out games.
