First Signing For Dowie

Iain Dowie has made his first signing as Coventry City manager. The new boss has signed former Senegal international midfielder Khalilou Fadiga.

The 32 year old has been given a contract until the end of the season and has played for Paris St Germain,Red Star 93, Standard Liege,Club Brugge,Auxerre and Inter Milan. He came to England to play for Bolton Wanderers in 2004/05 Bolton.

Before he made an appearance for Sam Allardyce's team, he collapsed and was fitted with a defribulator to control an irregular heart beat. He had been advised to retire but continued to play before being released in May 2006.

Iain Dowie told the club website: "Khali has joined us until the end of the season and brings with him the kind of experience which will strengthen the squad. "He's got good pedigree having played for Inter Milan, Auxerre and Bolton and I'm sure he'll prove a useful addition."

The midfielder goes straight into the squad to face Norwich City tomorrow.
