Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has been fined for his comments about referee Steve Bennett following the Sky Blues 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup Sixth Round.

it was plain for all those in the ground to see that Mr Bennett officiated the game in a manner that could be described as being friendly towards the Chelsea players and the City manager today was fined by the Football Association and warned about his future conduct.

The City boss faced an independent regulatory commission who ruled that Mr Coleman was 'guilty of of improper conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute.'

Coleman was fined £2,500. However, £2,000 is suspended until the end of next season pending any further breaches of the same rule.
