Fans Generally Happy With Referees

According to a survey commissioned by the Football League, supporters of Football League clubs are generally happy with the standard of referees. Three out of five said that the standards of refereeing and their assistants were above average standard. However, 72% said that the standard had not improved in the last five years.

88% were happy with some form of technology to help the match official reach the correct decision if it were to become available.

The survey also took into account non-match going supporters who overwhelmingly said that lower ticket prices and better on the pitch performances would tempt them back.
