Former Coventry City trialist Kevin Muscat has received an eight game ban for his tackle which put Adrian Zahra out for the rest of the season.

Muscat, who appeared for City Reserves in a Birmingham Senior Cup victory at VS Rugby as a trialist during Gordon Strachan's time as manager, was playing for Melbourne Victory in their local derby against Melbourne Heat.

Muscat, also played for Palace, Wolves, Rangers and Millwall, received an eight match ban after picking up his second booking in a match where former Coventry City striker John Aloisi scored twice for Melbourne Heat.
