New striker, Freddie Eastwood has been talking to the club website about his move to Coventry which has been completed today according to various media reports.

Said Eastwood who will cost City £1.2m rising to £1.5m on appearances: "My agent kept me informed of what was going on in March and it was so disappointing that it didn't happen then so I am really pleased to be coming here now.

"I was looking out for Coventry's results at the end of last season because I knew there was a good chance that they would be coming back in for me so it was a huge relief that they stayed in the Championship.

"I know the manager is now looking to build things back up again here and, to be honest, he was a big factor in me joining the club. I have spoken to a lot of people in the game about him and everybody says he is a brilliant manager and nobody has a bad word to say.

"I've started my pre-season with Wolves and that has gone well so far and now I can't wait to keep up that good work here.

"The Ricoh Arena is a great place to play your football - it is one of the best in the Championship so I am looking forward to getting out there.

"My aim is to end the season as the club's top goalscorer - I've scored goals elsewhere and that is exactly what I want to do here at Coventry.

"I know one or two of the lads - I was in the academy with Elliott Ward at West Ham - and I am sure once I meet the boys I'll settle in really quickly."
