Michael Doyle has said that he would like another contract at Coventry City.

The midfielder whose current deal expires in the summer said to the CET: "My agent had a meeting with the club last week and they have said they want to keep me so it is all positive from that end. "But at the same time it is getting nearer the end of the season so it would be nice to get something sorted as soon as possible. "I don't want to move because I am very happy here, on and off the pitch. I love where I live and everything about where I live, and I love the club as well."

"Everything is looking like it is going in the right direction with the new stadium and we are pushing on up the table," he said, "so I just think everything is there for us to push up a division into the Premier League and that's what the club are aiming for.

"They are going to give it a bash in the summer and I would be delighted to stay and I would love to stay and be a part of it. "I am a little surprised it has not been sorted out sooner but I have never been really worried. I don't mean that in an arrogant way.

"The manager had a brief chat with me at the start of the season when Mike McGinnity was chairman and they said they wanted to get something sorted out.

"But Mike's situation changed and, although I was a little worried, I didn't want to push it because it wasn't the right time. But it is something that has been in the back of my mind for the whole season and it always will be until I get something signed. "I want to stay and I know the manager wants me to stay so I just hope we can get something sorted out."
