Dowie Wont Use Take- over Failure As An Excuse

Iain Dowie has said that he will not be blaming the failure of the take-over not going through if the team does not get off to a good start this season.
Said Dowie: "Of course it has been frustrating not knowing when the takeover would happen but we have tried to cocoon the players from all that because it is not going to be an excuse for us.

"We are not going to let that happen and it would be churlish to do so because if things don't go right on the pitch then that will be down to me and the management team, not events off the pitch. It shouldn't have an effect on the players. "We would have loved to have money to spend but we feel we have still operated in the market quite well and have a squad capable of challenging the top teams in this division."
