Iain Dowie is to appear in the High Court on May 8th. The City boss is being sued by Crystal Palace Chairmam Simon Jordan for fraudulent misrepresenation when he quit the South London club last summer.

Dowie claimed that he wanted to be closer to his family who were based up north but instead moved up the road to take over at Charlton Athletic.

Mr Jordan claims that he only released the Northern Irishman from his contract on the understanding that it was for a job in the North.

The Specials fan has dropped his libel suit against The Addicks but will call Charlton officials as witnesses in the case.
