Arjan De Zeeuw has been talking about his move to Coventry City. The Dutchman who signed a one year deal with one option of a second if enough matches are played in, joined City after being released by Wigan Athletic.

"There were a couple of options but but as soon as I spoke to Iain Dowie and came down to have a look around I got a feel for the place," said De Zeeuw to the CT. The manager is so enthusiastic, has got great desire to succeed and has not got enough words to fill a sentence when talking about the game.

"I talked to a couple of players at Wigan who have worked with him in the past and everyone was really positive about him and assured me that he always builds a good team spirit and camaraderie, and that was appealing to me because it is always fun to play in teams like that.

"But I know that Coventry is a big club as well and everything is in place to step things up on the field and get promotion."

"I was expecting to go to the site where Highfield Road was and I didn't realise the new stadium was on the edge of town."It is really beautiful and has excellent facilities with the hotel and everything."

"I want to get promotion. "It is a tough league to get out of and a really long season with lots of games coming thick and fast on Saturdays and Tuesdays, but it can be fantastic if you get some momentum going.

"The year I went up with Pompey was one of the most enjoyable of my career. "The manager is bringing in new players and hopes to add a few more before the season starts, so I am really looking forward to getting started."
