The Coventry City captain has seen one specialist and is due to see another in Manchester tomorrow after being diagnosed with severe muscle damage after popping out his shoulder against Reading on Monday night.
"Scott's devastated and he'll be a massive loss to the team," said Steve Kean to the CT.
"You always miss your quality players in any area of the pitch and Scott's done really well.
"But Ben Turner's been really patient and I thought he did well the other night.
"We've got Hally [Marcus Hall] so those lads are obviously going to get their opportunity."
