Covsupport Statement Re Kev Monks

Last updated : 22 January 2005 By Covsupport
Covsupport News Service wish to state that they take a dim view of comments made by the Secretary to Coventry City's Chief Executive Graham Hover that Kev Monks is a "trouble maker".

Mr Monks is a loyal Coventry City supporter who despite disability follows the first team and reserves home and away as well as the Academy and Ladies team as a supporter of the club for the last 35 years.

Not only is Mr Monks a shareholder and a shirt sponsor of two players. He provides the club with match reports and information on the Reserves away matches, Academy games and those played by Coventry City Ladies whom he introduced the club to, for its website and matchday programmes.

He also played a leading role in founding the Sky Blue Trust to promote dialogue between supporters and the club and encourage supporters to communicate with the board through channeled means.

Covsupport feel that these are not the actions of someone who could be classed as a trouble maker and hope that the person involved will refrain from making further derogatory comments regarding Mr Monks.
