Coventry's Situation Could Make A Difficult One For Us - O'Driscoll

Bristol City manager Sean O'Driscoll feels that City problems which were caused by Tim Fisher's failures to negotiate a deal for Coventry City to continue to play at the Ricoh Arena could see the Sky Blues players unite in a common cause.

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post, O'Driscoll said: "Coventry are in turmoil and having to play their home games in Northampton is hardly ideal.

"But that kind of situation usually brings people together in a common cause. I've been there myself and there comes a time when there is only one way to go.

"The team dynamic can be a powerful force and, as a group of players at Bournemouth, we all came together and did our bit to raise cash for the club and to publicise fund-raising activities.

"If we wanted new footballs or an overnight stay for an away game, we all chipped in and paid for it ourselves.

"We pulled the football side of things away from the politics and almost became a self-contained unit. That helped us forge a closer bond and we became stronger as a team because of it.

"I'm sure it will be the same at Coventry, and now the club's immediate future has been secured, it could make for a difficult situation for us.

"There will be a bit of a circus following it, because it will be the first time Coventry have played a home game outside of the city, and we will have to try to focus on the things we can affect."
