Former Coventry City youngster Conor Thomas has left Swindon Town and gone to India.

Thomas had two years left on a contract at the County Ground after being released by Coventry City in 2016 and has signed for Atletico de Kolkata who play in the Indian Super League.

The midfielder, who came through City's Academy and was playing for City U18's at an early age before progressing to the first team, where injury hampered his career, confirmed the move on Twitter by tweeting: "Delighted to have signed for Atletico de Kolkata. It’s a great opportunity.

" Cannot wait to get started and play in front of the fans.

“It's time for a new experience. All the best to the boys for the rest of the season go and get promoted!”

Atletico de Kolkata are managed by Teddy Sheringham.

Former Coventry City midfielder Michael O'Neill has called up former City loanee Oliver Norwood into the Northern Ireland squad for the game with San Marino.
