Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that he is pleased with the reaction Elliott Ward has shown after he was dropped last week for the game against Wolves to make way for James McPake.

"I want the players cutting each other's throats to get in the team and I want the ones in the team to know that they are not guaranteed to stay in there," said Coleman to the CT.

"Elliott didn't like being left out of the team and that's good because I don't want any players who are happy enough to just sit back and take their wages.

"I am not interested in those types of characters because you don't win anything or get anywhere with that.

"Elliott was bitterly disappointed but this week he has trained very, very well and is focused and he wants to get another chance of getting back in the team."
