Coleman On Pre Season Friendlies

Coventry City are planning their pre season friendly campaign and have already announced they will play at Nuneaton and Hinckley.

There will not be any overseas pre season friendlies this year because of the costs involved.

Other local games being arranged are at Northampton and at Walsall. Chis Coleman is also hoping to be able to arrange a week in Scotland and is trying to fix up a couple of games north of the border in the week just prior to the start of the new Championship season.

"We are trying to organise something in Scotland for a couple of games and then spend the final week here." said Coleman.

"The trouble with the ones abroad is they cost money and we are just not in a position to do that at the minute. They are great when you can do it, but we had a good pre-season last year and will do the same again this."

Talking about the Nuneaton game, almost now a tradition, Coleman said, "We have got a very good connection at Nuneaton. We sent a fax over to them wishing them all the best in the play-offs and we want to maintain that relationship."

"We have sent a few young players over to get a bit of experience and they have been very well looked after."

Confirmed games and dates so far are: Nuneaton Town at Liberty Way on Wednesday, July 14 kick-off 7.30pm, and Hinckley United at the Greene King Stadium on Saturday, July 17 kick-off 3pm.
