Cody Over Shin Splints

Cody McDonald has said that he is glad to be over his shin splints which kept him out of of Coventry City's first four pre-season matches.

McDonald was back on Saturday as a substitute against Nuneaton and told the CT'S Andy Turner: My shins were really sore and it was a slight case of shin splints but hopefully I am over that now and I can move on.

“I went to the Academy and did all the running that I missed during the three or four days leading up to the lads going to Scotland, and a couple of extra days running so I have caught up on all that fitness work.

“It put me a bit behind on the football side of things but I like to think I can catch up on that.

"I’d love to be involved at Wrexham. Obviously it’s up to the gaffer who he picks for the game but we have only got a couple of weeks to the start of the season so the manager is going to be thinking of that as well and hopefully I’ll get as much match time as possible.

“I’m confident I’ll be firing come the start of the season because I’ve done all the running now and it has been real tough running this year. The manager has been really hard on us but it has been good and we have got it under us now and we can concentrate on the football side of things.

“And I’m just raring to go, and the lads are as well.”
