City's Oldest Living Player Dies

It is very sad to report the death of former Coventry City and Lockheed Leamington full-back Eric Dobbs.

Eric, who at 91 was the oldest former City player, lost the best years of his playing career to the Second World War.

He finally made his league debut in April 1947, coincidentally against last night's visitors Swansea in a 3-2 home win.

He made only five appearances before moving to Bristol Rovers in 1948.

He later returned to the Midlands to play for Lockheed in the early 1950s.
