Doncaster 10-1 City Vets & Supporters Team

Coventry Vets joined forces with City Supporters team to take on Doncaster in a Internet League match at Rossington Sports Centre.

After Kev Monks had performed the ceremonial match toss, the match kicked off with Donny having the early play.

The home side had a number of chances and took the lead in the 12th minute, followed by Paul McKay deflecting a corner into his own.

A third came from a poor goal kick five minutes later.

Doncaster made the most of the strong wind and scored five goals in a five minute spell.

Heads did not drop and the Sky Blues were able to manage a spell of pressure before the half time whistle.

Doncaster scored their ninth five minutes into the second half and seven minutes later, there was something to celebrate when Danny McDermott got the ball on the left and smashed a tremendous shot high into the far corner.

Doncaster scored a tenth in the 65th minute but Coventry batted to the end against an experienced side.

After the match, the Doncaster manager praised the City players by saying; "Huge thanks to James and the Coventry lads for making it up to Doncaster this morning. Good bunch of lads, who deserve credit for the way they performed in the second half, having gone into the break 8-0 down"
