Coventry City moved up to eighth in the League One table after their 1-0 home victory over Hartlepool United.

City currently have sixty points from 39 matches and are only three points behind fifth and sixth placed Swindon and Yeovil who did not play and seventh placed Tranmere who lost 3-0 at MK Dons.

Leaders Doncaster drew 1-1 at home to Portsmouth, whilst second placed Brentford beat Preston 1-0.

Biggest shock of the day was third placed Sheffield United losing 4-0 at Stevenage.

Portsmouth's draw means that Bury who lost 2-1 at home to a ten man Colchester United are bottom with Portsmouth, Hartlepool and Oldham who lost 1-0 at home to AFC Bournemouth all above them.

Elsewhere, Crewe drew 1-1 with Shrewsbury, Leyton Orient beat Carlisle 4-1, Notts County beat Scunthorpe 1-0 and Walsall drew 2-2 with Crawley.
