City Still In Striker Search

Coventry City are still looking for a striker if they can find one who will benefit the team.

Speaking to the Coventry Observer’s Steve Carpenter, Steve Waggot said: "We agree when people say we need to get somebody in but there are so many factors that can make it very difficult.

"When you look at all the statistical analysis our stats always seem to drop away in the final third.

"But every club wants the same player as they push on for promotion or fight relegation.

"So you need to get in there early and go right under the radar which is what we did with Nimely and Norwood.

"We have tried to do that with three or four quality strikers, but for various reasons at hasn't worked out.

"We are still trying to find the right players to come here with the right attitude to blend into the system we have in place and that is the way Andy and his coaching team see as the way of going ahead."
