City Stay In Seventeenth

Coventry City remain in seventeenth place in the Championship table after snatching a 1-1 draw against Derby County at the Arena this afternoon.

Birmingham City lead the table by two points from Wolves. Alex McLeish's side beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 at St Andrews whilst Wolves won 3-2 at Watford.

Reading remain third after a 0-0 draw with managerless QPR with Cardiff up to fourth following a 1-0 win against bottom side Nottingham Forest. Fifth place Sheffield United beat Preston 1-0 and Bristol City, who gave a debut to former Sky Blue Stern John in the 59th minute replacing Dele Adebola, drew 0-0 at Barnsley.

Swansea, who left out Dimi Konstantopolous, stuffed Southampton 3-0 to go seventh.

Ipswich won 3-1 at Plymouth, Norwich City beat struggling Doncaster 2-1 whilst Coventrian Ian Evatt scored for Blackpool in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace and Charlton drew 1-1 with Burnley.

Locally, Tony Dobson's Rugby Town won 4-2 at Yate Town with Kolodinski and Stone scoring twice.

Leamington remain unbeaten at the top of BGB Midland Division with Micky Bellingham netting twice in a a 4-0 win at AFC Sudbury. Atherstone were held 1-1 by Leighton Town but a 27th minute goal from Hadland gave Nuneaton a 1-0 win at Woodford United.
