Coventry City remain 23rd in the Championship table after the 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

City now have the same amount of points (thirteen) as Doncaster Rovers who drew 0-0 with Watford but have a better goal difference of four goals.

Both sides are now six points adrift of third from bottom Bristol City who beat leaders Southampton 2-0 at Ashton Gate and the same number of points from fourth from bottom Millwall who drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace.

At the other end of the table, West Ham moved to within two points of leaders Southampton with a 3-1 home win over Derby.

Cardiff moved up to third with a 1-0 home win over Nottingham Forest whilst fourth placed Middlesbrough were held 1-1 at Peterborough United.

Leeds are fifth despite suffering their first home defeat to Barnsley in twenty years with a 2-1 loss and Blackpool are sixth after a 2-2 draw with Birmingham City.

Elsewhere, Burnley won 3-2 at Hull and Reading won by the same score at Ipswich.
