Coventry City remain 15th in the League One table despite slamming five goals past a hapless Walsall side in a 5-1 win.

City, now have 27 points from 21 matches and a goal difference of plus five and are ten points off a play-off place and eight away from the relegation zone.

Hartlepool are marooned at the bottom after a 2-0 home defeat to Stevenage and are eight points behind Scunthorpe who were beaten 2-1 at home by AFC Bournemouth. Bury who lost 2-0 at home to Leyton Orient are third bottom with Shrewsbury Town fourth bottom despite a 2-2 draw at Crawley.

Leaders Tranmere Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw by Portsmouth, whilst Doncaster Rovers, whom City travel to next Saturday drew 1-1 at Swindon Town.

Sheffield United are back third after a 3-1 win at Carlisle with Brentford who beat MK Dons 3-2 fourth.

Other results saw Oldham win 2-0 at Colchester, Crewe win 3-1 at Preston and Yeovil draw 0-0 with Notts County.,
