City Remain Eighth

Coventry City remain in eighth place in the Championship after matches in the division tonight.

Sheffield United could have gone above City but lost 1-0 at bottom side Peterborough United thanks to a 40th minute Craig Mackail-Smith goal.

Cardiff City lost 2-0 at Ipswich, Preston were held 1-1 by Doncaster Rovers but Swansea won 1-0 at Watford.

Saturday's opponents Plymouth Argyle were beaten 2-0 at QPR and other results saw Crystal Palace beaten 1-0 at home by Bristol City and West Brom beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0.

Ashley Cain was a 31st minute substitute for Oxford United in their 2-1 home defeat to Hayes and Yeading.

Locally, Nuneaton beat Bedford 4-0, Rugby Town lost 3-0 to Halesowen for whom former City youngster David Blenkinsopp scored and Leamngton lost 3-1 at home to Hednesford Town.
