Former Coventry City loanee keeper Gavin Ward has been appointed Assistant Manager at Gainsborough Trinity.

The Lincolnshire side are managed by Brian Little whom Ward has played for at Wrexham, Stoke and Leicester.

"Gavin and I will travel together so we won't just have a couple of hours a week here at the club, but several hours together in the car, " said Little to BBC Radio Lincolnshire. "He will be a big help around the place, with the goalkeepers here and also to me. "It will be good to have someone who knows how I've dealt with things over the years talking to me."

Ward had been at Hednesford Town earlier this season and made 12 league appearance plus three cup ones for City in 2003-04.

Wilo Flood is expecting to be loaned out when the transfer window reopens in January.

The winger, who featured in the first ever game at the Ricoh Arena in 2005, has failed to break into the Celtic team and is expecting to be shipped out at the end of the season.

Speaking to the Dublin based Evening Herald, Flood said:  "I think it's fair to say that me moving to Celtic has not gone according to plan. I'm not involved, I'm not featuring and at this stage of my career I need to be playing regularly.

"Celtic will decide what I do, but it's best that I go out on loan, at least, and see what happens then.

"I've spoken to Tony Mowbray about it and he's been great with me. He's one of the most honest people I've met in football, he hasn't messed me around in any way. He says it would be best for me to go out on loan next month, get some games in and get my sharpness back and we'll assess things again in the summer."
