Former Coventry City loanee Gary Caldwell played for Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup Semi-Final against Arsenal at Wembley.
Wigan took the lead through a Gomez penaly but Arsenal, who knocked out the Sky Blues in the Fourth Round equalised through Per Mertesacker to send the tie to penalties.
Caldwell missed a penalty as Arsenal, who had Chuba Akpom on the bench, won 4-2 on penalties and will now meet either Hull City or Sheffield United in the Final.
