Former Coventry City loanee Clive Clarke, who suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for Leicester City versus Nottingham Forest has offered hope to Bolton Wanderers' Fabrice Muamba.

The former Arsenal and Birmingham City player, suffered a cardiac arrest in the 41st minute of Bolton's FA Cup tie at Tottenham on Saturday evening and is still being reported as critically ill at the London Chest Hospital in East London.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek, Clarke said: "I feel very sad and it obviously brought back a lot of bad memories for myself.

"I'm absolutely devastated for the lad and hope he pulls through. When something like that happens, it puts football into perspective. One life is more important than any football game."
