Terry Yorath has stepped down as Assistant manager at Huddersfield Town. The Coventry City legend left by mutual consent after being released from hospital following treatment for drink related illness.

Terriers boss Pete Jackson who played for Yorath when he was at Bradford City over twenty years ago told Huddersfield's official website: "This has been a very difficult time and an incredibly tough decision for both sides to make. Having Taff as my number two in both spells as manager of the Club has meant that we have developed a fantastic working partnership, having worked close with each other for many years.

"The decision was even more difficult as we have been friends off of the pitch for the past 20 years as well as managerial partners here at Huddersfield, so it was the hardest of decisions to make - not just on my part but on Terry's as well. "I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Terry the best of luck in the future both from me as the manager, but importantly from me as a friend off the pitch. In addition, I'd also like to thank Taff or his years of service to me, the players and to Huddersfield Town."
