As expected, David jones has been appointed manager of Cardiff City. The former city defender has been out of work since he was sacked by Wolves last November.

Gary Mills has been appointed manager of Alfreton Town. The former city reserves boss had been the manager of Notts County after leaving Highfield Road,but was sacked during the season just gone. He has been given a three year contract by the Conference North side.

Former City assistant manager Alex Miller is probably recovering from a sore head after the Liverpool side he coaches won the the European Cup last night. The Scousers were three goals down to AC Milan at half-time but fought back to draw 3-3 before winning the game on penalties.
