Scowcroft made 41 appearances for City before being sold for £500,000 to Crystal Palace. The Eagles released him last month and now Scowcroft has dropped a division to move to East London on a free transfer.

Former Coventry City Academy defender Liam Francis has joined Redditch United. Spider as he was nicknamed had been at Nantwich and Stratford Town last season before making the recent move to Redditch. He was on the bench for Coventry City's FA Cup tie against Millwall and was a reserve team regular before he was released by Chris Coleman.
