Former Coventry City midfielder Kevin MacDonald has become Tim Sherwood's assistant at Aston Villa.
With Chris Ramsey staying at QPR, Sherwood has moved to bring in MacDonald who has had caretaker spells with Villa before following the resignation of Martin O'Neill.
MacDonald made 31 appearances for City from 1989-1991.
