City Off The Bottom

Coventry City are off the bottom of the Championship table after their 2-0 home win over Brighton & Hove Albion this afternoon.

City went ahead of Doncaster Rovers on goal difference after Rovers lost 4-1 at Watford for whom former City player John Eustace scored.

Coventry's nineteen points puts them two points behind Nottingham Forest who lost 1-0 at home to fourth placed Cardiff City.

Bristol City stay fourth bottom after winning 1-0 at leaders Southampton last night whilst Millwall remain fifth bottom with 26 points after losing 1-0 at home in the South London Derby to Crystal Palace.

Southampton's lead at the top of the table is two points from Middlesbrough who drew 1-1 at home to Peterborough, whilst West Ham slipped to third after a 2-1 defeat to Derby County at Pride Park.

Fifth placed Reading beat Ipswich 1-0 whilst sixth placed Hull lost 1-0 at Barnsley who moved into seventh place.

Elsewhere, former City forward Marlon King scored for Birmingham City in a 3-0 win over Blackpool and Leicester drew 1-1 with Portsmouth..
