City Lose FL Appeal

Yet again,Coventry City lose out on another appeal with the news the Football League have decided that Coventry City cannot play their first three league matches of the season away from home.

Thanks to what is perceived as a go slow by Builders Laing O'Rouke who have refused over-time on the project, the opening of the Arena has been delayed until August 20th and have thrown the start of City's league campaign into chaos.

Mike McGinnity said: "This is yet another headache for us and we will now be going back to the Football League to ask them to change their minds. "We believed Bolton played their first three games away from home when they moved to the Reebok Stadium a few years ago so we cannot see why we should be any different."

Where City will play their matches is open to debate. Highfield Road is currently being transformed for the Elton John gig and after such a wonderful day culminating in the 6-2 victory over Derby, many City supporters have already said their goodbyes to our home of 106 years.

Mike McGinnity has promised to poll the fans as to a suitable venue.
