Coventry City have loaned Shaun Jeffers out to Cheltenham Town.

The Bedford born striker has joined Cheltenham on an initial month loan.

Jeffers, who scored for City in the pre-season friendly against Walsall and last season at Northampton, will go into their squad to face Gillingham tomorrow.

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates told his club's website: "Shaun is a young forward who comes highly recommended by Aidy Boothroyd.

"I've seen him a couple of times and he is a strong boy with bags of potential. He is just over six feet tall, he has strength but mobility as well and he can get goals.

"He will give us some healthy competition for places and I'm sure that we have a talented player on our hands.

"We have signed Shaun for an initial month but the agreement can be extended for longer and I would like to thank Aidy and his staff for helping us out at short notice."
