City Ladies Win At Portsmouth

Coventry City Ladies won 1-0 at Portsmouth Ladies in a WPL National Division game this afternoon

At Moneyfields FC, The first half was a tight affair but failed to produce any goals.

Into the second half and Courtney Sweetman-Kirk had a one on one saved by the keeper before a Kim Walton header was parried away by the Pompey keeper.

Paul Cudby's side took the lead in the 67th minute when Helen Dermody sent a  fiercely inswinging corner direct into the top corner of the net to give City the win. 

City; Wood, Johnson, Wilcox, Lynch, Walton, Barber, Bragg, Dermody, Sweetman-Kirk, Saulter, Toussaint. Subs: Hollingsworth, Miles, Dale, Edwards. 

City Ladies Reserves beat Nottingham Forest 3-0.

In the WPL National Division, Leaders and Champions Sunderland beat Aston Villa 2-1 and Leeds United won 3-2 at Charlton Athletic.
