COVENTRY City ladies take the long trip up north this weekend where they will try and halt Sunderland Ladies' charge for the Premier League title.*

Tough games have been coming thick and fast for the Sky Blues in recent weeks and after Sunday's narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of title chasing Leeds, first team coach Paul Cudby has admitted that Sunday's fixture will be a tough test.

"It’s a great opportunity to test ourselves again, so we're really looking
forward to it," said Cudby.

"I thought we lacked a little bit of quality in the final third when
compared with Leeds, but to a player we worked incredibly hard and matched one of the best teams in the league, so I'm very proud of the performance.

"Had our penalty gone in the first half it could quite easily have been a
different story, it just wasn't to be on the day."

Sunderland recorded a comfortable 4-1 victory against Barnet on Sunday afternoon, a result that moves them top of the league, two points ahead of the Sky Blues with two games in hand.

A win for the Coventry could prove vital in the title race as Cudby's side look to leapfrog their opponents and the side will look to recapture the form in which they beat Sunderland earlier this season.

Cudby added: "Sunderland were very strong opponents and it will be an incredibly tough game for us.

"But we've shown great character over the last three games and there have been lots of positives in all the fixtures, I think most of the pressure will be on Sunderland."

The game takes place at the Hetton Centre, Park View, Hetton Le Hole and kick off is at 2pm
