Coventry City Ladies are off the top of the Women's Premier League table after a 0-0 draw at Watford.

This was a game of bottom versus top at Northwood FC with Watford bottom of the table and under a new manager, following the resignation of their manager and assistant in the week, taking on Paul Cudby's side who remained top of the table following last week's 0-0 draw at home to Cardiff City.

On a warm afternoon, the Sky Blues won the early midfield battles and started to create chances with Maz Gauntlett firing inches wide of both posts.

Gauntlett had two more chances before the half ended without a goal.

A great run by Sweetman-Kirk saw her drifting in from touchline before  chipping just inches over with keeper beaten and this was followed by Emily Simpkins going for goal with a 35 yard free kick which was palmed over by the keeper.

Paul Cudby made a triple change in the 65th minute with Torkildsen, Durrant and Saulter replacing Formaston, Barber and Gauntlett.

City piled on the pressure but had to take a draw from the game and are now second in the table behind Leeds United.

City  Wood, Steele, Ward, Simpkins' Lynch, Butler, Formaston (Torkildsen 65), Barber (Durrant 65), Gauntlett (Saulter 65), Sweetman-Kirk, Dermody. Subs Hollingsworth, Wilcox.
