City Ladies Boss Beats Pressley To Award

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley failed to win the Manager/Coach Of The Year at the first ever Coventry Sports Awards tonight.

The awards, promoted by the Coventry Telegraph with Virgin Trains as its headline sponsor, saw Pressley who was nominated for keeping City in League One.

The award went to Coventry City Ladies Manager Craig Nicholls, whose side have been beaten just once in 26 league matches and have won the league and county cup. 

Coventry City defender Ryan Haynes won the Professional Sportsman Young Player of The Year award.

Coventry City Goalkeeping Coach and club legend Steve Ogrizovic won the Community Award for which Coventry City support Pat Raybould was also nominated.

Former City striker Callum Wilson won the Professional Sportsman Of The Year Award.

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to David Moorcroft OBE

Peter Bromwich of the Coventry Football Alliance, won the Volunteer of the Year award.

Coventry Bees Speedway team beat Coventry City Ladies to the Team of The Year Award.
