City In Tudgay Talks

Coventry City are in talks with Marcus Tudgay about a new contract.

Tudgay's one year deal ends this month and talks have began with the 32 year old striker and his representatives.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: “Negotiations have started with Marcus and his advisors.

“It’s about expectation really. What do they want, where are we going with it and where do we feel the value is in the player?

“But I would like to keep Marcus because I think he does bring experience and he’s a very conscientious footballer. He works extremely hard and listens and tries to implement exactly what you ask him to do within the structure and formation of the team.

“He’s a low maintenance footballer who can help our football team and that’s why I’d like him to stay. And yet, at the same time, every player has a value which is where we are with the team, so that’s just a negotiation thing.

“Do we have other options to look at? Possibly, but it’s just a question of coming to some common ground between two parties to get a contract agreed.”
