City In Big Defender Hunt

Micky Adams is out trying to sign a big centre half in time for the visit of Burnley to Highfield Road on Saturday.

Both Adams and Reserve Team boss Alan Cork are remaing tight-lipped about their target. Cork, however did tell the CET: "We are trying to get players in for the weekend. "There is nothing wrong with a small footballing side if you are in the Premiership and top of the league, but when you are fourth from bottom of the Championship it is slightly different.

But we can improve and if they don't take it on board, like Micky says, they won't be here. Full stop!

"I have to say the ability at the club is very high and the standard of passing the ball is very good. The other side of it, desire and defending set pieces and crosses, we need to improve on. It is a big part of the game and if you don't do it properly you get beat.

"But technically they are very talented players, all of them, all through the club which is a delight really. It is probably the best set of players, passing wise, we have ever had, but there are other parts to football.

"Unfortunately in football you can't have things over night and it takes time. But hopefully we can survive this year and push on. "Me and Micky do things a certain way, as we have for the last ten years, and it takes a while for things to be done how we like them, so we will keep working with the lads."
