City Duo On International Duty

Coventry City's Aron Gunnarsson and Michael Mifsud were both involved in international action tonight.

Gunnarsson played for 68 minutes in Iceland's 2-2 draw with Norway whilst Michael Mifsud played the whole game of Malta's 4-0 defeat with Portugal.

Chris Birchall was not selected for Trinidad & Tobago.

A number of City supporters were in Barcelona for England's World Cup Qualifiers with Andorra. Former Coventry City player Stuart Pearce was on the bench directing the team alongside Fabio Cappello. England were booed off at the break with the score at 0-0. Joe Cole scored twice in the second half for a 2-0 win.

Other international action saw Robbie Keane hit the post in the Republic Of Ireland's 2-1 win against Georgia in Mainz. Wales, without the injured Freddie Eastwood beat Azerbaijan 1-0, whilst Scotland lost 1-0 in Macedonia and Northern Ireland lost 2-1 in Slovakia.
