City Bottom Of The Championship

Coventry City are bottom of the Championship after their 2-1 defeat at Portsmouth.

City. whose failure to win their 20th league game of the season and not record any more away wins since they last won at Portsmouth back in April, went bottom due to Doncaster Rovers beating league leaders Southampton thanks to a goal from Billy Sharp.

City are now third points behind Doncaster who have sixteen points and seven behind Nottingham Forest who lost 1-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Above Forest are Ipswich Town after Paul Jewall's side slumped to their seventh consecutive defeat with a 2-1 home defeat to Watford who move up to 17th. Bristol City are 20th after a 1-0 home defeat to third placed Middlesbrough.

Millwall who lost 2-0 at Leeds are 19th with Portsmouth now up to 18th.

At the other end of the table, second placed West Ham lost 2-1 at home to the other side in claret and blue in the division Burnley.

Blackpool are up to seventh with a 1-0 win over Reading.

Hull might have lost manager Nigel Pearson to Leicester City but got their own back with a 2-1 victory at the KC Stadium. Leicester had former City loanee Matty Mills sent off.

London Road, Peterborough had the most goals in the Championship but it was visitors Barnsley who left with the points after a 4-3 win.
